End of Life?: Palliative care tends to be usually offered during end of life care. However palliative care can be offered for other reasons as well. I would consider seeing a pain specialist who might be able to help you out with this.

For comfort. : Palliative care should be offered when a patient is having significant symptoms from a terminal or incurable medical issue. It involves controlling the symptoms rather than treating the actual condition.
