Jaw surgery: Dentofacial deformity occurs as we age and unequal growth causes our upper and lower jaw bones to become misaligned. Surgery on the jaws will realign your jawbones to a correct and functional relationship. Usually done in coordination with orthodontics to correct compensations in tooth position by the poor jaw position. Most surgery is done intraorally, and under general anesthesia.
