Meningioma: A meningioma is a tumor that arises from the membrane that covers the brain. They are most commonly benign and treatment is based on on location and rate of growth. In seeing "calcified" or calcifications this usually means the lesion is benign and likely not treated. Rapid growth or compression of the surrounding brain will accerlate the decision for treatment.
