Depressed/psychotic: Schizoaffective disorder, depressed type, has depression symptoms (depressed mood, sleep and appetite changes) and schizophrenia symptoms (delusions, hallucinations, thought disorder). When remission of depression is obtained, the psychosis persists; otherwise, the same symptom complex would be diagnosed as major depression with psychotic features.
