Chills and fever: See a doctor or go to the er to make sure your chills and fever are the flu and not an infection related to your esophageal tear.

No: It's too soon to be using anti-inflammatory meds after an esophageal tear. Tylenol (acetaminophen) is a better option to treat your viral symptoms.
