Will ventolin syrup help my 5 month old baby with broncholitis as the dr prescribed it 3ml 3 times a day for 4 days?

Ventolin: Since bronchiolitis is a viral illness, ventolin usually doesn't help. The most important part of treatment is hydration and the use of a source of steam either from a vaporizer or humidifier.

Medication: Yes. That is why the doctor prescribed it.

Unlikely: This used to be a quite common practice in the US 2 decades ago, but never really did much. Research showed the high dose needed to be helpful would drive the heart rate too fast and make baby fussy. Some use it to give you something to do. I quit using it years ago.
