A member asked:

Is lamictal more like geodon (ziprasidone) or seroquel? i want to switch over to lamictal for schizoaffective disorder or schizophrenia

You can't because: It is not an antipsychotic and will not control your psychotic symptoms. At best it can be used as an add on to help alleviate any residual depression that may be bothering you. Best wishes in this blessed season.

Not like either: Lamictal is an anti-seizure medication that is approved as a mood stabililizer. In general it works better for depression than for mania, ie, "from the bottom up." it is in a completely different group of drugs than seroquel or geodon (ziprasidone). If it works well for you, it can be a great choice to be on.
