Plantar Fasciitis: The plantar fascia is the band of connective tissue that extends from the bottom of the heel to the forefoot. Inflammation of this tissue is very common especially with a severe flat foot (fascia is stretched) or a severe high arched foot (fascia is tight). The following treatments are helpful: achilles stretching, good supportive shoes, orthotics, cortisone injections, eswt, last resort surgery.

Tendonitis: The most common complaint from people suffering from an acheyness in the arch is something called posterior tibial tendinitis. Often this can also be presented with plantar fasciitis, which is a band of tissue that runs along the arch and can become inflamed and painful causing aching in the arch. Seeking medical attention to fully evaluate your symptoms is recommended.

Many causes: Heel pain and arch pain is most often caused by plantar fasciitis, a condition that is sometimes also called heel spur syndrome when a spur is present. Heel pain may also be due to other causes, such as infection, tendonitis, arthritis, stress fracture, nerve irritation, retained foreign body, bone tumor, or a cyst. Have it evaluated by a professional and get the appropriate treatment.
