Fever not necessary: Many, if not most patients with acute sinusitis have no fever. If you are having congestion, pus in nasal discharge, facial swelling and pain or tenderness, nasal speech, strongly suggest you see your family doctor and get examined and treated. This almost always warrants antibiotics along with decongestants, irrigations, pain control, and management of the reason for developing sinusitis.
