Somatoform no more: The designation "somatoform disorders" has been changed in the new dsm 5 to "somatic symptom and related disorders." it's a group of disorders sharing prominent somatic symptoms associated with significant distress and impairment. Illness anxiety d/o (hypochondriasis), conversion d/o, etc are included. Anxiety d/o's focus on features of excessive fear and anxiety ; their behavioral disturbances.
