Soft brush: Use a soft brush, brush lightly including the gums even if they bleed, and use floss. Over time, they will stop bleeding. Make sure to follow up with your dentist.

Gingivitis, perio: Sounds like gingivitis or a more serious form of gum disease called periodontitis. A thorough exam by your dentist can determine the source of your bleeding gums. The dentist and hygienist can treat this condition or refer you to a periodontist if needed.
