Many things.: There is almost nothing that can expand your sternum without causing major symptoms in other organ systems. A sense of pressure can be caused by acid in your esophagus or perhaps a hiatal hernia or esophageal spasm. If you have actual sensitivity to the touch you have a problem in your immediate chest wall not inside your chest.
