Autism spectrum: This is a group of traits that seem to run together. There's no pill / cure, so it's actually moot. "Aspies" benefit from being educated about social skills that others learn naturally; do best in strength / endurance sports rather than team / coordination sports. Many are happy being single. Focus on science or tech rather than comics / train schedules and you'll discover it's a huge plus.

Family: I would probably seek family support and learn as much about it as possible teaching who don't know along the way.

Great question: Remember the many plusses. Choose your intellectual focus in something that helps others & will get you a good job. Science & tech -- find what you like best. Get a strength or endurance sport rather than one with teammate interactions. Keep life simple. Say only nice things. Relationships are more important than being right. Tell folks, "i'm just me" rather than "i have a disease." u'll be liked.
