Many: There are many reasons to order an MRI of the brain. Some of the most common are to evaulate for a stroke, a brain mass, metastatic disease, seizures, altered mental status, dementia, movement disorders, and global cerebral ischemia. This is by no means a complete list of reasons for an MRI of the brain.
