Ask ur dentist: Maybe the second molar is unrestorable. So hard to answer these questions with any sort of accuracy without being able to see you and the tooth. If you would like a second opinion, see another local dentist who can take a look.

Removing teeth: In general, only hopeless teeth should be removed. We can't know for sure without actually clinically examining you ; seeing x-rays of the area. One indication would occur if the second molar is either hopeless from a restorative point, severely extruded, has severe periodontal pocketing, or badly aligned, while the wisdom tooth might erupt into the 2nd molar slot or be orthodontically moved there.
