Stains: Coffee or tea will stain teeth-chemicals from water supply will leave teeth with brown spots-poor oral hygiene can leave teeth discolored- long use of certain medications can cause discoloration. See your dentist for answer.

Decay or calculus: These could be either decay, stained hard deposits on teeth, or stained white fillings.
