Enterovirus Possible: This is the time of year that we do see late summer enterovirus which can cause headache, fever, eye pain, and neck soreness. The age of your children would be important to know here. Neck soreness with this illness is to be expected, but a stiff neck or difficulty bending the neck should be evaluated and would require a spinal tap to understand viral illness vs dangerous bacterial meningitis
