Neck lump: This may be an enlarged lymph node which is a response to some irritation or skin inflammation possibly from cosmetics, jewellery,clothing,etc. It could also have been due to an insect bite. If the redness is not severe, try applying a cortisone type cream. If redness worsens, if the lump doesn't recede or if new ones appear, see your physician for evaluation.
