Counseling: Your attorney might know of a n experienced counselor to help you through the stress. If not, you can recruit one by asking for what you want when you call for an intake. It can be a very difficult time and someone who knows the ropes can be reassuring. Try to be clear about your aims and if you're worried that it might be held against you in court, that you want assurance that it will not.

Seeing a therapist: It is both permissible and recommended to get counseling during a divorce. These records are private and confidential and not subject to review by courts unless the circumstances are extreme (abuse of a child, neglect etc). Courts and attorneys often won't listen to you, they just want to settle the matter. You will be heard in therapy.
