Psychiatrist: What your partner does with his mental health is up to him. If interested, he could consult a psychiatrist for full evaluation and get treatment recommendations. Sometimes this is more talk-therapy than medication oriented. Most primary care physicians would not be treating this disorder, and would refer it to a psychiatrist.
