Yes it is: When one is extremely frightened, one can have sudden diarrhea stools or lose control of bowel. In a sense your body gets rid of bowel contents so you can run or fight with less distraction. This response happens in other animals too. Witness horses who suddenly come upon a bear, etc. It can happen with soldiers on battlefields too.
