Is anesthesia considered necessary for a diagnostic laparoscopy?

Dr. Ionel Rad answered

Yes: Typically, general anesthesia is needed with laparoscopic procedures since the surgeon needs to put a co2 (a gas) in the abdomen and breathing on your own can be impaired then.
