What to do if i am getting a heart ultrasound to look into some odd heart at the back of the heart?

No preparation: Transthoracic echocardiography (ultrasound study of the heart done from the chest) needs no preparation. It is a very safe study without significant discomfort. Transesophageal study should be done fasting. If having the latter, full discussion and explantation is needed prior to study.
