A member asked:

Can you tell me of any updated treatment for leber's eye disease, it affects the optic nerve and is hereditar?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Stem cells: Several cases of this condition have been improved (not normalized) by the use of stem cells. This work was done in britain as these lines of research were forbidden by the former president bush (who doesn't have these conditions in his family so he didn't care). The usa is now trying to catch up after 8 years of not being able to pursue stem cell function.
