A member asked:

Could psychiatrists drug children / teenagers for money?

I would hope not: On the other hand, there are psychopaths in every profession and I am sure that some have done that. I'm aware of a number who have done far worse things so I am assuming that they have done that as well. It brings shame upon our profession.

Point of view?: Psychiatrists treat people of all ages for mental ; emotional illnesses. These treatments can involve medications, psychotherapy, combinations of these, or other methods. Like physicians of other specialties, they are paid for their work. This differs markedly from "drugging" children/teenagers for money, but i imagine some might interpret psychiatric work in this way.
