Yes: Our bones are living tissue and have visible areas that are responsible for their growth called the physis or growth plate. Once these growth plates are no longer visible on x-rayit is known the bone will no longer grow in length. It is also possible to predict a young persons age by looking at x-rays of the hand or wrist based on knowledge of what bones are visible.

Growth plate in wris: Yes it is! The growth plate in the wrist is usually closed at 16 years old in males, but a scar remains for the rest of your life that is called the physeal scar. This is visible on normal x Rays
