I'll try: A bone fusion is usually done 2 obliterate a painful joint. Common r in the hand, back ; foot ; ankle. The bone is cut or burred down 2 healthy bleeding bone on each side of the joint. A graft using ur own (autograft) or cadaver (allograft) 2 fill the space . Then a fixation plate ; screws or other means 2 keep pressure on the graft ; keep the now fused joint from motion until it is solid.
