Honest & supportive: Just be honest, share your happiness, but acknowledge that you know they've been trying too, be supportive, and wish them success. Being overly optimistic may not help (especially if you don't know how long they have been trying or what they've been through - no-one wants to hear 'relax and it will just happen' or other platitudes). They are your friends and don't want you to avoid them either.
