Is it possible that an ophthalmologist tell you if you're a good or bad candidate for laser eye surgery?

LASIK: Surgery candidates are evaluated by an ophthalmologist with a complete exam which includes a retinal evaluation. Any suspicious retinal pathology will be cleared prior to surgery. Any other ocular disease will be assessed to see if there are contraindications to lasik as well. Cornea mapping and thickness measurements with refraction will then help finalize the surgical plan.

Absolutely: When you have a pre op exam for lasik, your ophthalmologist will obtain a number of measurements to help assure you that you are in fact, a good candidate.
