A member asked:

When should a child stop seeing a pediatric cardiologist and begin seeing a general cardiologist?

Depends: The differences between pediatric cardiology and adult cardiology are not entirely related to age of the patients. Adult cardiologists concentrate on acquired heart disease, most importantly coronary artery disease. Pediatric cardiologists concentrate on congenital heart disease. When transitioning to an adult cardiologist, make sure you find someone with competence in your disease.
