A member asked:

What is abdominal endometriosis, can it be harmful to the body, and what does the surgery to remove this consist of?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Endometriosis: Endometriosis of the abdominal wall typically presents with a painful abdominal wall mass. Pain can be cyclic with menses or continuously present. Bleeding may also result. Surgery may be indicated for severe symptoms, advanced disease, or failure of medical therapy. Surgery may involve laparoscopic laser ablation or excision.
