No confusion needed!: It is impossible to have conceived shortly before a period. Having a normal regular period means a woman is not pregnant at that time. The usual time to conceive is about 2 weeks after the start of a period, because that is the approximate time a woman ovulates. She can only get pregnant if she ovulates (that's the only time she makes an egg).
