FM: Fm can certainly explain a lot of symptoms. Ask for a second opinion or referral to a rheumatologist to confirm or refute the diagnosis. Fm is typically considered a diagnosis of exclusion, but the very widespread nature of the pain that crosses both anatomic and physiologic boundaries (and the other accompanying symptoms) is not likely to be caused by anything else.

Find actual causes: It might be fibromyalia but many with fibro have undiagnosed lyme; it's important to rule it out ; most tests are inaccurate! many also have suboptimal thyroid ; adrenal function etc. Most docs focus only on treating symptoms, whereas a holistic doc will explore ; treat the underlying causes. Unifying symptoms are chronic widespread pain, non-restorative sleep, depression & cognitive disarray. Causal factors include femaleness, childbirth, joint hypermobility, obesity, biomechanical injury & prolonged inactivity.
