Pericoronitis: Pericoronitis is a disorder in which gums becomes swollen and infected around the wisdom teeth. The common reason is a partial impaction of the wisdom teeth. This creates an opening for bacteria to enter around the tooth and cause an infection. See/call your oral surgeon to get an ab to calm the infection. Take otc advil (ibuprofen) to reduce inflammation and rinse your mouth with salt water.
