Pericoronitis: Pericoronitis is a disorder in which gums becomes swollen and infected around the wisdom teeth. The common reason is a partial impaction of the wisdom teeth. This creates an opening for bacteria to enter around the tooth and cause an infection. See/call your oral surgeon to get an ab to calm the infection. Take otc advil (ibuprofen) to reduce inflammation and rinse your mouth with salt water.

See a dentist: Soon for an exam. You may have infection in the tissues around your wisdom teeth that has spread deeper into the jaw areas. Antibiotic may be needed. Don't delay getting to the dentist with this issue !!
