A member asked:

My 3 yr old had an mri 2 weeks ago. results states: "minimal nonspecific periventricular deep white matter intensities". what causes this? prognosis?

Very Common: That is a finding that is commonly found in normal patients. It does not seem like anything to worry about, although your 3-year-old must be having some serious problems if you needed an mri. Periventricular white matter intensities are not a diagnosis, though. You have to keep looking.
