See Spine Specialist: Many people have anatomical variances in their spine like you, however not everyone of those people has or will have pain. Since this has been bothering you enough, i would suggest seeing a pain ; spine specialist to see what exactly is bothering you to see what they can do to help with your pain.

There is a bone: There is a bone there. You may have a common congenital condition called spina bifida occulta or perhaps one less lumbar vertebrae. Google that. This condition is usually harmless but can lead to spinal instability to allow one to more easily get "down" in their back. If you have a lot of pain, have it looked into. I would start with my pcp.
