Folliculitis.: What you are describing could be folliculitis which is simply inflammation of the extremely small hair follicles which are present in that area. Folliculitis can be asymptomatic, or it can be itchy. Try using some over the counter Cortaid (hydrocortisone) twice daily for a week, but if that does not take care of it, see your dermatologist. You may need something prescription strength.
