Esophageal Ulcer: Ulcer and irritation in the esophagus is caused by reflux of stomach acid in the esophagus.Dr must have taken a biopsy and you have to follow up on the results of the biopsy and discuss your condition. You might already be placed on acid suppression therapy with proton pump inhibiters. Esophageal ulcers can also be caused by prolong use of non steroidal drugs like ibuprophen or Naproxen and cancer.

Await biopsy results: Meanwhile will be treated for esophagitis, probably with a ppi, like Prilosec or nexium (esomeprazole). Will need follow up, in any event.
