Lumps: The lumps are lymph glands which have popped up becayse of possible congestion in your upper airway.

Lymph nodes(?): Your body's border patrol units are working to fight off an invader--virus or bacteria. That results in extra white blood cells in the area and lymph swelling--how fast that occurs is usually the determiner of pain.
