Better Than Without!: Nitrous oxide is just like that song "a spoon full of sugar, helps the medicine go down!" nitrous oxide does not provide anesthesia to the tissue, but makes you feel much more relaxed and accepting of the procedure while it's happening. It will put your mind at ease. You will still need local anesthesia, which is really what makes the procedure pain free.
