Kidney infection: Usually true kidney infections don't go away on their own without treatment (antibiotics). Sometimes people have to be hospitalized for intravenous antibiotics for a couple days. Blood in the urine is common with bladder infections. Follow your doctor's advice, and take the medicine they recommended.
