Call the doc: There are options when it comes to treating an infection. Indeed, azithromycin and clarithromycin are quite similar. It's too bad you've had trouble with the azithromycin - there are other forms (such as a suspension) if it's the large size of the pills that bothers you. The clarithromycin should work just fine too - so I would call the prescribing doc for assistance.
