Talk to your surgeon: The right rapport with your plastic surgeon should ease your fears. Textured implants are available, but not common for cosmetic surgery unless the patient has had a history of capsular contractures. The smooth implants are more popular for cosmetic surgery. They can be silicone or saline.

Communicate with M.D: Best to communicate your concerns and questions with your plastic surgeon directly. He/she will be in the best position to address these concerns and questions and help alleviate anxiety. Make sure that you communicate your goals carefully; in my practice, i find the use goal pictures helpful during this process. Computer imaging may also be helpful. Best wishes.

Ur MD is best source: I am not trying to be facetious but surgeons all practice differently and each routine will be different. Basically you will be admitted typically one hour before, meet and be marked by staff and surgeon and/or anesthesiologist. Be taken to procedure room for local/gen anesthesia, be prepped surgically, have implants placed followed by wound closure and dressings then observation and discharge.
