Injury: It depends on the injury. Initially rest the shoulder for a week and take some anti-inflammatory such as ibuprofen. If it gets better typically it’s non-surgical. If it doesn’t help and continues or worsens I would get an appointment either with your primary care physician or a sports medicine physician. If needed they can order the appropriate tests and refer you to orthopedics if necessary.
