It would depend what: the thought is. Was this something that happened to you or you are afraid will happen to you? Is it realistic (I will be hit by a car) or unrealistic ( Aliens will abduct me)? The best way for you to get help with this is to have an evaluation by a clinical psychologist. They can help determine what might be at work and why you have this recurrent thought in your head.
