Depressed people: As they recover, depressed people gradually feel more like interacting with others. Some of this comes from improved energy, and also positive emotions resurface. Interest in normal activities (including work ; play) returns. They notice and connect with other people differently, and start to reach out. People can relate to you more when you're warm and engaging, vs detached and listless.
