A member asked:

What to do to tell if my medication (adderall) prescribed by a pa is a placebo?

It is not a placebo: Pa's can write for adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine). Pharmacies do not dispense placebos. Best wishes.

It is not a placebo: It is against the law to prescribe placebo. The pharmacy won't dispense it either. Personally, i wish placebos were allowed to be prescribed since they have a greater than 30% efficacy rate. But it is not ethical to deceive patients so they are only given in controlled trials where patients consent to the chance of getting a placebo.
