Either: If you are asking can a wisdom tooth be removed with a local anesthetic or a general anesthetic the answer if either can be used. Normally it is done with a local or intravenous sedation with local anesthesia as most oral ; maxillofacial surgeons reserve general anesthesia for major cases that need to be done in a hospital operating room.
