Time and dose: Nexito or Lexapro (escitalopram) can help anxiety over time (4-6 wks) and at a sufficient dose; but it could be you might do better with citalopram that tends to be somewhat more sedating, therefore perhaps more helpful for anxiety. Nefazodone and many other medications can also be helpful for anxiety without being addicting as the benzodiazepines can be. Recommend talking with your provider.

Gradual titration : Treatment of anxiety disorders requires patience ; precision. Nexito (lexapro (escitalopram) in usa) . Is an effective anxiety "regualtor" we do start with 2.5-5mg and gradually titrate, your doctor will help you identify subtle signs of early response that tells the med is working ; gives you hope. But if reaching a therapeutic dosage does not lead to a response, then other ssri/snri can be tried. Good luck.

Patience: 2 weeks is not long enough for your medication to have had full effect. 4 to 6 weeks at the optimum dose is usually required. There are a # of additional ways to address anxiety: cognitive behavioral therapy, behavior modification, individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, qi gong, tai chi, acupuncture, acupressure, homeopathy, meditation, yoga ; exercise program.
