Very unlikely: Very unlikely, but possible if you are hypersensitive to one of the components in the local anesthetics, such as epinephrine, esp. If you have un-diagnosed heart problems.

Very very unlikely: Although there are risks to any procedure, there have been no reported deaths from balloon sinuplasty. The balloon catheter is an fda approved medical device and all major complications are reported to the fda. Although there are rare reports of eye injury or cerebrospinal fluid leak, in skilled hands these complications are quite unlikely. Ask your surgeon how many procedures she or he has done.

Not likely: The procedure is very safe. I would consider ballon sinuplasty in office before any procedure under general anesthesia. Since it is done with local anesthesia it is very similar to having dental work done in that regard. Also I find it to be very effective.
